Ghostcrawler Explains Cataclysm Heroic Dungeon Difficulty

Getting tired of continually rage-quitting or leaving due to time constraints in World of Warcraft: Cataclysm Heroic dungeons pugs? Well, so is the rest of the world (queue time for DPS is still 40mins. FTW). But Ghostcrawler and the rest of the Blizzard team are showing no signs of giving in too much to the request of the players to nerf the Cata heroic dungeons to WOTLK standards (although there was a report that they would, as to how much they haven't mentioned it yet).

Horde Inspired Bathroom

Although we can only just imagine how Orcs, Trolls, Taurens, and other Horde races look like when they need to take a dump (we're quite sure it's not gonna be pretty), that won't stop certain Horde fans from transforming parts of their humble home into a bastion of the manliest faction in World of Warcraft. And what better way to redecorate a bathroom than to redecorate it the way a Horde would. With weapons, Alliance-scum leftovers, heads of slain Black Dragonflight, and then some.

How about you? What's the craziest thing you've done in real life in honor of World of Warcraft? So far, the only thing I've adapted was the terminologies and probably stories/terms at work. How often can you use the words "sanctified" and "AoE" outside the confines of the game (or church)?!

Heroic Dungeons Getting Nerfed?

A Blue post just announced that Blizzard will be making some significant changes with regards to Heroic Dungeons probably at patch 4.0.6. Based on the post, they've noticed how difficult it's been become for players to grind through the instances, that's why they're taking action by modifying certain aspects such as trash mobs, boss fights, and abilities. Yes, we may see some nerfing here, but the good kind.

World of Warcraft: Cataclysm Patch 4.0.6 Goes Live on PTR

It's been a month since World of Warcraft: Cataclysm was unleashed and we've already had alot to work on as we grind our way through new Azeroth. Most players have already conquered the new available zones, have leveled their toon/s to level 85, plus have worked their way through their professions, including Archaelogy. There are also triumphs in Heroic Dungeons and even raids, including the Bastion of Twilight, Cataclysm's hardest raid so far.

However, many of the adventures and triumphs we've come acrossed and achieved these past weeks do not escape the issues of unbalanced characters, game play and mechanics problems, profession glitches, and so on. That's why Blizzard keeps on uploading some hotfixes to make our World of Warcraft lives more convenient. And for the first time since the game has been released, a new patch is on its way to further fix some bugs and problems the game currently has. It's already available at the Public Test Realm (PTR) and might soon hit the real game around next week. Hit the break to go to the official patch notes.

Cataclysm Hotfixes Jan. 5

Blizzard just released Hotfixes for Patch 4.0.3a and World of Warcraft Cataclysm. There's a nice overall overhaul regarding Guild Flasks and Perks, some fixes on Druids, Priests, and Warlocks, plus fixes on dungeons, battlegrounds, and zone encounters.

Have you started raiding for Bastion of Twilight yet? If not, then I guess you wouldn't know the difference. But to those who have and are now at the deeper parts of the instance (grats!), Blizzard just made some changes that will definitely give your healers a harder time as they increased damage output of some bosses. Looks like they're working overtime tonight.

Watch out also because Patch 4.0.6 is up! We'll post the details a little later, but for now, better ready for some significant downloads once you log into World of Warcraft!

See the full Blue Post regarding the January 5th Hotfixes after the break.

Cataclysm Hotfixes Jan. 3

Updated Hotfixes for World of Warcraft: Cataclysm last January 3rd. Seems like we'll finally see some fixes on various dungeon issues, including the Super Mario-style lightning rods of doom in Heroic: Deadmines. We've also got significant changes in raids, professions, quests, and certain aspects of Mage and Paladin abilities.

World of Warcraft Makes Bad Things Bearable

This will be among the first videos which we will be featuring that will celebrate World of Warcraft players' creativity and innovation when it comes to fan videos. And today, we'll be featuring an awesome World of Warcraft parody dedicated to probably the most powerful being in Azeroth, the dragon queen herself Alexstrasza by taintedlore. Tol Barad Victory Honor Reward Lowered to 360

I sort of knew it was a matter of time until they realized the mistake they're making, and now Blizzard is lowering the victory reward to Tol Barad Attackers to 360 Honor Points, down from 1800 Honor Points. Having that much Honor Points in gaining victory seems like a holiday treat by Blizzard as the reward allows players to easily purchase pvp gears. Some of my guildmates already own the complete set thanks to timely victories in a fiercely contested battleground.

The 1800 Honor Points certainly engaged players not interested in PVP. I've seen the battleground players increase for a week now (and the lag too), but with Blizzard lowering it, things may go back to 'normal'. The Alliance in my server (Nagrand) certainly took the challenge as we've won the zone several times last week compared to laughable numbers before the 1800 HP reward.

Fishing Away

Dear Blizzard,

I’ve been through it all from leveling up multiple characters to 80 to spending hours wiping in the original Molten Core all the way through the Ice Crown Citadel. I’ve gotten every profession to the max level and every secondary profession to the max level that is … except for Fishing.

I pull out my raggedy old umbrella at the beach and relax, telling myself that I will finish getting my fishing skill up. As I begin to fish, I click on the bobber when it moves and loot my Longjaw Mud Snapper. I do this again, and again, and again. Eleven times I loot the Longjaw Mud Snappers as I watch my skill go up …by 1. By the time I’ve looted a couple more fish I have had it. I’m done! What am I doing sitting here wasting my time?

That was until Cataclysm was released.

Thank You Blizzard for fixing fishing. I’m so very glad you made Fishing so rewarding, so entertaining. It makes the game for me. With Cataclysm's release I saw that you changed the icon that you click the bobber with. What an addition! That was the key … the secret to making fishing fun!

After 6 years of creating and maintaining the status of the most successful MMO, I’m very glad that you figured out how to make fishing enjoyable. Most importantly, I think you really tackled the issue of leveling up so its not extremely tedious.

To the Blizzard employee who made this addition, kudos to you. I hope you got a promotion, because you Sir, are one of a kind.

Signed,
The guy who hates fishing but continues to do it anyways

World of Warcraft: Cataclysm Review

Hands down, Blizzard has once again outdone themselves as World of Warcraft’s newest expansion, World of Warcraft: Cataclysm replenishes the dwindling mantra of the franchise into a refreshing, charming and epic game it’s been known for since day one. Cataclysm introduces new playable races, new game mechanics, new quests, new adventures, new achievements, new zones, new everything. Even the old zones have gotten a facelift to get with the times, a feat which made some fans cry of sentimental reasons.

But it’s not all rainbows and butterflies, as several bugs and problems surfaced on the day of expansion. Players particularly in the US realms were extremely disappointed, but Blizzard immediately patched up the wounds with hotfixes.
