Useful Mage AddOns

World of Warcraft Cataclysm Mage AddOns That Will Boost DPS and Make You More Effective

There are three AddOns that I find extremely useful for being a mage:

Fishing Away

Dear Blizzard,

I’ve been through it all from leveling up multiple characters to 80 to spending hours wiping in the original Molten Core all the way through the Ice Crown Citadel. I’ve gotten every profession to the max level and every secondary profession to the max level that is … except for Fishing.

I pull out my raggedy old umbrella at the beach and relax, telling myself that I will finish getting my fishing skill up. As I begin to fish, I click on the bobber when it moves and loot my Longjaw Mud Snapper. I do this again, and again, and again. Eleven times I loot the Longjaw Mud Snappers as I watch my skill go up …by 1. By the time I’ve looted a couple more fish I have had it. I’m done! What am I doing sitting here wasting my time?

That was until Cataclysm was released.

Thank You Blizzard for fixing fishing. I’m so very glad you made Fishing so rewarding, so entertaining. It makes the game for me. With Cataclysm's release I saw that you changed the icon that you click the bobber with. What an addition! That was the key … the secret to making fishing fun!

After 6 years of creating and maintaining the status of the most successful MMO, I’m very glad that you figured out how to make fishing enjoyable. Most importantly, I think you really tackled the issue of leveling up so its not extremely tedious.

To the Blizzard employee who made this addition, kudos to you. I hope you got a promotion, because you Sir, are one of a kind.

Signed,
The guy who hates fishing but continues to do it anyways

A Look at the Warrior’s Talent Tree

A Warrior inside and out knows no limits in dealing massive burst damage or mitigating attacks from opponents of all shapes and sizes. Being a Warrior requires a lot of focus from the player and enough responsibility to use a rotation that will not excessively abuse a Warrior’s source of strength, Rage. Managing Rage can become a task and a hassle if not dealt with properly, so as the swash-buckling, shield wielding harbinger of pain and protection, you’ve got to realize that with great power, comes great responsibility.

If you’re new to the Warrior business, you’ll notice that there are 2 main roles the class can do, and can do VERY well: Burst DPS and Tanking. And in doing these parts effectively will totally depend on 2 things, your gear and talent tree. Let’s talk about talent trees for now and see what each can do for you thirst for some Warrior awesomeness.

The Ironforge Airport

This is a place that most people have not been to and with Cataclsym coming up, who knows if it will still be there.

Its location can be seen above if flying out of Ironforge to the Wetlands, and its very easy to get if you have slow fall or a parachute. A slow fall potion will work, too. If your in IF, go outside to the left and should see a graveyard. Once there use a slow fall potion, hop on a mount, and try to land in front of the large tree. From there just keep going up through the mountains and make your way to the IF Aiport.

A Venture Into the Unknown

As Cataclysm inches closer and closer, of the next few weeks I will be venturing into the Unkown! I will be going all around Azeroth going to places that:

A) People Have Forgotten About
or
B) Cool Places That Most People Don't Visit

If you have a place you'd like me to visit use the Contact Forum on the website!

I also recomend people who never played in the Classic World of Warcraft to go and visit Molten Core and Blackwing Lair, imagine trying to get 40 people together, the right class combinations, all on at one night. It was beauty of the good old days -- or the not so good days depending on how much Guild Drama you had.

Great for Blizzard to really cut back from the 40man instances.
