Azzor Gold Guide - Recommended Addons

Now that we’ve gone over some basics in Auctioneering, I want to take some time to talk about some of my “best-friends” in the AH world, my addons.
These are all the addons I currently use to cover all my AH needs.
These are all the addons I currently use to cover all my AH needs.
“Auctioneer provides you with the tools and data necessary to make those difficult auctioning decisions with ease. From purchasing to posting, the Auctioneer Suite provides time-tested tools to allow you more time to actually play your characters or play the market.”
I personally use Auctioneer more for the scanning and related features than anything else. To date it is the best scanning tool for when I need reliable data for raw scan data, using the data for Flipping, and Checking Market Prices. Its features, most notably the “Snatch List” makes buying up sought after items simple, while at the same time giving the user a chance to make an informed decision.
“Auctionator is an easy-to-use World of Warcraft add-on that helps you buy, sell and manage auctions. “
Auctionator is a light-weight alternative to using Auctioneer. I’ve actually started using Auctionator for everything but scanning! It has amazing buying and selling features, and I LOVE its shopping list tool. If you are running a system that is a bit slower, this could be a good option instead of Auctioneer. While I personally use both Auctioneer and Auctionator, scanning takes resources, so while Auctioneer may be a more comprehensive tool to use, Auctionator may be a better option on the system resources side, and its features make it a good option regardless of system restrictions.
“Auditor is a nifty addon that tracks your incoming and outgoing money from a variety of sources, and provides an easy to use Data Broker interface to choose whose data you would like to look at, and for what time period.”
GREAT little addon to track incoming and outgoing gold expenditures. Includes AH, Mail, Trade Window, Bank and more! Auditor can serve you both in the AH and outside of it. If you have other means of making gold, either by soloing old content, or doing dailys, and are not sure whether or not it is an effective means of making gold, Auditor can help you; it can show how much gold you loot, how much you made through quests, money spent on repairs, etc, allowing the user to make an informed decision on the best use of their time.
“The main feature of the addon is the search functionality which allows users to search their alts' bags across multiple-realms/accounts.”
I have multiple WoW accounts which I use for posting and storage. Altoholic is essential in keeping my inventory straight and telling me “How much do I have of X item and which character is it on?” Altoholic can save you a lot of time and frustration by cutting down on the time you spend alt hopping and waiting through loading screens, which, unless you are running light on addons, or are running WoW off a solid state drive, can waste a lot of your time. Used in conjunction with an addon like Bagnon, featured below, you can effectively locate every single item you need as soon as you log on to any character.
“Bagnon is an addon that merges all of your bags into three frames: One for your inventory, one for your bank, and one for your keyring.”
Other than personally loving that one bag look, Bagnon also has a very cool search function which will highlight the item I’m looking for in my bags. Which is GREAT when I’m trying to trade goods to a customer and cannot find them amongst the oodles of other goods in my bags. As I mentioned above, it is also very useful when alt hopping to locate something; all you need to do is type the name of the item you’re looking for, or copy and paste it, and Bagnon will highlight the items in your inventory, or show you that you do not have any of the items, allowing you to spend the time you would have spent going through your bags item by item on making more gold.
As a side note not entirely related to AHing, one of the features is “Quest items can be highlighted”, a feature that was recently added into the game. If you look at what Blizzard has done in the past, they have taken good features from popular addons and added them to the core of the game. In vanilla and burning crusade you had to download things like scrolling combat text, and questhelper, but Blizzard, noticing that people were considering these addons necessary, added similar components to the game. I would not be surprised if some features from Bagnon or other addons I am mentioning here would be added to the game at a later date, and will happily evaluate their utility at such a time.
“BankStack is the leading cause of things moving in your bags and bank. It sorts your inventory, bank, or guild bank. It fills incomplete stacks in your bank with items from your inventory and it compresses your bags by filling incomplete stacks within them.”
Organization with a single click? Hell to the yes! So amazing for keeping glyphs organized between my bags and bank! This addon is very useful for anyone that has a crafting profession that creates things in uneven numbers, alchemists with procs, creating more items while already having an odd number in inventory, etc. The wasted space on one character could lead you to mailing items off to other toons, making you waste more time going back and forth between alts than you need to.
“Bulk mail sending made really easy”
Invaluable addon for sending materials off to crafters or to specific alts for storage. ‘Nuff said.
“Kev Tool Queue (KTQ) will auto queue items that match a keyword into skillet. You tell it how many you want to have and it will check with altoholic to see how many you already have. It will then only craft the ones you need. It also has optional support for auctioneer to check prices and have it skip any item listed too low. You can use any keyword, but it has a few built in.”
KTQ is an absolute life-saver. If you mass produce items to sell on the AH you NEED this addon. It turned my logistics nightmare (Gem and Glyph business) into a simple money-making machine!
“Postal offers enhanced mailbox support”
Postal is amazing for many of its features, but for one feature in particular it is simply outstanding. The “Open All” button. I have mine to Open All of my completed auctions in one click. Can you say ca-ching?
“Quick Auctions is an auction tool to help speed up auctioning large quantities of items, especially canceling. While primarily Quick Auctions is built for large quantities of items, it can work fine for a few auctions as well. A bit of tweaking is required to get optimal settings, but it is very flexible and smart enough that you can use it for more than just mindlessly undercutting auctions by 1 copper every time. Summary window and craft queues are included so you do not have to memorize every item and quantity you need. Shows total materials required to craft as well as allowing you to click from the craft queue to craft so no searching through everything.”
Quick Auctions is the heart and soul of my AH business. It takes a little bit of time to set everything up, but it pays you back ten-fold of time saved once you start using it!
I find every one of these addons to be useful to me, and think many, if not all of them will be essential to you in your gold making ventures. Each of these addons requires a different learning curve and set up time, so while some of the features will be “plug and play” others will require a bit of finesse and patience to tweak to each individual users’ desired specifications. If you have any questions about an addon, what something will do etc, please either read the information in the links I posted above, or try using cheap items. When configuring you AH machines it’s always best to test your automation with say, as stack of wool instead of a stack of cardinal rubies.
Be safe, be smart, and good luck out there.
